This essay is part of her memoir-in-essay manuscript, Spell, a coming-of-age tale about navigating institutions, where personal history is incantation, old stories summon new ghosts and conspire with the forces of interracial love, bipolar disorder and most of all, laughter. Nina has an MFA from Columbia University, where she was a University Writing fellow. She is a proud recipient of the Diversity Scholarship at the Magnet Improvisation Theater and was recently listed in The Juggernaut article "Funny Women Everywhere" on up-and-coming South Asian women in comedy.
