Valerie Laken has lived and work in Russia, Poland and the Czech Republic. Her work has appeared in Ploughshares, the Missouri Review, and has received a Pushcart Prize, the Missouri Review Editors’ Prize, and two Hopwood Awards . The author of the award-winning novel Dream House. She teaches at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. She reads from her collection: Separate Kingdoms.
