Michael Hyde’s debut story collection What Are You Afraid Of? won the Katherine Anne Porter Prize in Short Fiction. A Graduate of Columbia University’s M.F.A. program, where he was a Teaching and Writing Fellow, he has published fiction in The Best American Mystery Stories, Alaska Quarterly Review, Ontario Review, and has received fellowship support from the Sewanee Writers’ Conference and the Fundacion Valparaiso in Spain. He is currently completing a novel and a second collection of stories.
Sarah Micklem began writing after many years as an art director for children’s magazines. Her first book, Firethorn, was a Borders Original Voices pick and was chosen by both Borders and Amazon for their lists of the best science fiction and fantasy of 2004. The sequel, Wildfire, is forthcoming from Scribner in June. Sarah is currently working as a graphic designer and writing the third book of the Firethorn trilogy.
