In the second event presented by New York University’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies and literary venue KGB Bar, three working writers—teachers of poetry, fantasy, and personal essay writing at SCPS—will read from their recently-published work.

DAVID STANFORD BURR has taught Intermediate Poetry Writing at NYU-SCPS, as well as Books from Writer to Reader and courses in copyediting and production editing.  His poems have been published most recently in the tenth anniversary edition of Barrow Street; another is forthcoming in Lips magazine.

KAREN HEULER’s stories have been selected for inclusion in Fantasy: Best of the Year, 2008; Best of the Web: 2008; and the Alaska Quarterly Review (forthcoming).  She teaches Flash Fiction; Magic, Fabulous, and Surreal; and Beauties, Beasts, and Enchantment at NYU-SCPS.

KATE WALTER has taught Feature Writing at NYU-SCPS and currently teaches Personal Essay Writing there.  Her work has been published in the New York Times, Newsday, and The Advocate and is forthcoming in the anthology Lost and Found: Stories from New York.
