NYU Emerging Writers featuring Scott Snyder

Dave Grumblatt is technically from Kentucky.  He is a piemaker, a romantic, and an insomniac.  He is currently at work on three novels and a collection of short stories.  He hasn’t been published anywhere, at all, hasn’t even sent anything out, and should really do something about that.

Genna Murphy is a second year fiction student from Nova Scotia, Canada. In addition to indulging her many bad habits and crippling addictions, Genna occasionally writes short stories and teaches an undergraduate class at NYU. She stays young at heart by serving as “Den Mother” at an NYU freshman dorm, which is almost as fun as it sounds.

Mark Rice is a northern New England native.  He likes large water mammals, fried clam rolls, driving along coastal roads and cartography.

Martin Rock was born naked and screaming in a cabin in the woods of Tallahassee, FL.  He received his B.A. from Florida State University, before moving to Japan where he spent nearly 4 years teaching English, climbing mountains with mythical beasts, and barely surviving the onslaught of technology.  He is ecstatic to be a poetry student at NYU, where he is a Starworks Fellow, and assistant web editor for Washington Square.  His work has been published or is forthcoming in The Mississippi Review, Thirteenth Warrior Review, and the No Record Press poetry flyer.

Scott Snyder is the author of his acclaimed debut novel, Voodoo Heart, and teaches and lives in New York City.
