Catherine Sasanov’s Had Slaves, winner of Firewheel Editions’ 2009 Sentence Book Award, delves into her discovery of slaveholding among her Missouri ancestors, and her research into what happened to their slaves.  Her other poetry collections are Traditions of Bread and Violence, All the Blood Tethers, and the libretto for the theater work, Las Horas de Belén: A Book of Hours, commissioned by Mabou Mines.  She lives in Boston.

Marjorie Tesser is the author of THE IMPORTANT THING IS… Card Game, a poetry chapbook in the form of a game; it was the winner of the 2009 Firewheel Chapbook Award. She is an editor of Bowery Books, an independent poetry press, and of The Mom Egg, a journal.
