Katherine Russell Rich, author of DREAMING IN HINDI (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt), has also written for the New York Times, the Sunday Times Magazine, the Washington Post, Slate, and O, the Oprah Magazine, among other places. Her first book was The Red Devil: To Hell With Cancer...and Back. She’s been the recipient of a New York Foundation for the Arts Award and fellowships at New York Public Library’s Center for Scholars and Writer, MacDowell and the Corporation of Yaddo.

Susan Orlean has been a staff writer at The New Yorker since 1992 and is the author of four works of nonfiction, including THE ORCHID THIEF and THE BULLFIGHTER CHECKS HER MAKEUP. She is currently at work on a biography of dog actor Rin Tin Tin, to be published next year by Little, Brown. She lives in Columbia County, New York, with her family.
