Geoffrey O’Brien’s books include Hardboiled America, Dream Time: Chapters from the Sixties, The Phantom Empire, The Browser’s Ecstasy, Castaways of the Image Planet, and Sonata for Jukebox. His poetry has been collected most recently in Red Sky Cafe, and he contributes regularly to The New York Review of Books and Film Comment. He is editor-in-chief of The Library of America.

Tony Fletcher, author of ALL HOPPED UP AND READY TO GO: Music from the Streets of New York, 1927-1977, has written of three music biographies and a novel. He founded the music magazine Jamming! and has contributed to Newsday, Spin, and Rolling Stone, among many other publications. He lives in Mt. Tremper, New York.
