Author Tom Avitabile, is a Senior V.P. in advertising, a writer, director, and producer. Casey Barrett is a Canadian Olympian and the co‑founder and co‑CEO of Imagine Swimming, New York City’s largest learn‑to‑swim school. He has won three Emmy awards and one Peabody award for his work on NBC’s broadcasts of the Olympic Games in 2000, 2004, 2006, and 2008. Andrew Kass is a pre-Bridge Staten Islander long engaged in literary work while founding and managing a legal technology company. Publishing credits to date include a short story, “Guatemala Avenue”, in the Winter 2004 edition of Glimmer Train, and another, “Teenage Werewolves”, listed for Honorable Mention in its March/April 2017 Fiction Open, as well as published essays, commentary, poetry and photography in Central Park, Z:Miscellaneous, Outerbridge, Glassworks, and the OpEd section of The New York Times, among others.  Andy was associate editor of Book/Mark: A Quarterly Review of Small Press Literature for about a year and a half from its inception.
Tonight’s reading is from a legal thriller, THE CASE RUNNER, currently under review at several agencies, with a second in the series in process as a finished draft.

Currently living in Philadelphia, Joan Kane Nichols is a lifelong New Yorker who’s also lived in Boston. She has published fiction and nonfiction for children and young adults, beginning with a middle-grade mystery, All But the Right Folks. Her YA biography Mary Shelley: Creator of Frankenstein is a NYPL Notable Book for Teens. As a writer of fiction for adults, she’s received several awards, among them a Barbara Deming Memorial Fund grant for a novel-in-progress and a short-story award at MWA-New England’s 2016 Crime Bake.

Amy M. Reade is the USA Today bestselling author of The Malice Series, consisting thus far of The House on Candlewick Lane, Highland Peril, and Murder in Thistlecross. She has also written a cozy mystery, The Worst Noel, and three standalone novels of gothic suspense: Secrets of Hallstead House, The Ghosts of Peppernell Manor, and House of the Hanging Jade.
Amy is a recovering attorney living in Southern New Jersey. She is active in community organizations and loves reading, cooking, and traveling when she’s not writing. She is currently working on a sequel to The Worst Noel and another mystery.
