KGB: Coven Reading

The Coven is a writing collective that meets weekly somewhere between the Upper East Side and Chelsea. Originally brought together by the Sackett Street Writers Workshop, the group continues to create work that represents their diverse backgrounds, as well as challenge each other to expand and experiment. BIOS:

Catherine Carberry’s fiction has appeared in journals including Guernica, North American Review, Tin House online, Indiana Review, Harvard Review, and has been broadcast on National Public Radio. Formerly a reader for The Paris Review and Assistant Editor of Mid-American Review, she is currently working on a novel set in 1950s Puerto Rico.

Jessica Hutter writes and teaches French. She is a winner of Rosebud Magazine’s Mary Shelley Award for Imaginative Fiction and Literal Latte’s Short Short Fiction award. 

Samantha Isman has been involved with books professionally and personally for as long as she can remember. A literary agent by day, she loves to go back to her roots by night, revisiting the writing craft she fell in love with in the first place.

Kristen Sahaana Surya is a music lawyer living in New York City. She will be pursuing an MFA this fall.
