KGB: San Fedele Writers

Join At The Inkwell at KGB Bar featuring writers from Jewels of San Fedele and American Writers Review. Published by Serenity Books, the anthologies are a collection of short fiction, memoir, art and photography. Editors D Ferrara and Patricia Florio hope you will enjoy the books as much as they did working on them.

JEAN ENDE is a nice Jewish girl from the Bronx who moved to Brooklyn and is trying to exorcize her background by writing about her immigrant family. Her short stories have appeared in Stories That Need To Be Told, Bosque Magazine, Poets and Dreamers, Jewish Literary Review, University of California Press, and Jewish Her work has been recognized by Glimmer Train, Mark Twain Museum Humor Contest, Virginia Woolf Literary Contest and Howard/Reid Fiction Contest. She is a former newspaper reporter, political publicist, marketing executive and college professor. Jean is almost finished with her first novel and ready to start the search for an agent.

PAT FLORIO’s latest adventure is organizing a spreadsheet of writers’ names for the mailing of Summer 2018, American Writers Review, Anthology. “Not my strong suit,” she says, while revising her first novel, working title, The Word Catcher. “Hopefully, this suit fits me better.” Her latest publication is a children’s picture book, Puppy in My Pocket on This Brooklyn born writer is now living at the Jersey Shore fifty steps from the ocean. 

GREGORY FLETCHER (Thanks, Dad, I Think) has had four essays published, one short story, and one craft book (Shorts and Briefs, a collection of short plays and brief principles of playwriting). His plays have been produced in a dozen productions Off-Off-Broadway. Awards include the Mark Twain Prize for Comic Playwriting and the National Ten-Minute Play Award from the Kennedy Center ACTF, as well as being a nominee for Outstanding Original Short Script for the NY IT Awards; a playwriting grantee at Sundance Theatre Lab; a finalist for Reva Shiner Comedy Award, the Heideman Award, and a first runner up for the David Mark Cohen National Playwriting Award. ANDREW PAUL GRELL is an accidental writer, having caught the bug from his wife, Melody Breyer-Grell, while peering over her shoulder when she was doing her Wilkes MA course work. His Biblical science fiction novel SCAPEGOATS: GOAT PROTOCOL is coming out RSN from Golden Fleece Press. His “Christmas Break Miracle” is being anthologized in SURPRISED BY JOY from Wising Up Press.  Most of Andrew’s work involves the intersection of practical science-based solutions to stupid political problems and biblical and Jewish ethics and oddities. He is a happy ending guy. Andrew lives with his wife of 30 years and their little Maltipoo puppy, Cyrus King of Persia. By day he uses his super-hero math and computer skills to ferret out fraud in the motion picture exhibition industry, a pretty cool gig.

Writer, editor and collaborator D FERRARA’s work has appeared in numerous magazines and journals. Recently, she edited “American Writers Review – Summer 2018” and co-edited “Jewels of San Fedele.” Her script, Arvin Lindemeyer Takes Canarsie won Outstanding Screenplay in the Oil Valley Film Festival. Her play, Favor, won NJ ACT’s Outstanding Production of an Original Play.

MARTHA CHANG is a former Fulbright Scholar in China and Japan, and a Jersey Girl born and bred, who founded and ran an award winning jazz club/restaurant for 22 years. Educated at Cornell and Harvard, she gives talks on contemporary Chinese politics, culture and society, and was awarded a fellowship from the Norman Mailer Writers Colony.
