First Poetry Books: A Reading

Jeffrey Yang’s book of poems, AN AQUARIUM, was recently published by Graywolf Press. His translation of Su Shi’s EAST SLOPE is published by Ugly Duckling Presse. He works as an editor at New Directions Publishing.

Cecily Parks is the author of FIELD FOLLY SNOW, published in 2008 by the University of Georgia Press/VQR Poetry Series.  A PhD candidate in English at the CUNY Graduate Center, she lives in New York.

Ben Downing has published one book of poems, THE CALLIGRAPHY SHOP (Zoo Press 2003), and is the co-editor of Parnassus: Poetry in Review.

Danica Colic is a native New Yorker and graduate of the MFA program at Hunter College.  Her poems have appeared in Pebble Lake Review, Arts & Letters, Terrain, and Realpoetik.  She recently joined Ari Banias as co-curator of the Uncalled-For series in Brooklyn.
