Barrelhouse reading

The event will feature readers with work appearing in Barrelhouse 9 (The Sex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll Issue), readers whose work will appear in the soon to be released Barrelhouse 10 (The Crime Issue), and one of our amazing assistant editors.

Readers:

Melissa Broder is the author of two poetry collections, MEAT HEART (forthcoming from Publishing Genius, 2012) and When You Say One Thing but Mean Your Mother (Ampersand Books, 2010). Poems appear or are forthcoming in Guernica, Redivider, Court Green, Barrelhouse, Opium, et al. She edits La Petite Zine and curates the Polestar Poetry Series at Cake Shop in NYC.

Courtney Elizabeth Mauk is an assistant editor at Barrelhouse. Her work has appeared in The Literary Review, PANK, Word Riot, Joyland, and Wigleaf, among other publications. She has an MFA in Fiction from Columbia University and teaches writing and literature at College of Staten Island.

John Shortino is currently pursuing his MFA at Temple University. His essays and short stories have appeared or are forthcoming in Barrelhouse, Opium, and The Sonora Review.
