Monica Ferrell is the author of a collection of poems, Beasts for the Chase, which won the Kathryn A. Morton Prize and was published by Sarabande Books, as well as of a novel, The Answer Is Always Yes, one of Booklist’s Top Ten Debut Novels of 2008. Her poems have appeared or will appear in The New York Review of Books, A Public Space, The Paris Review, Slate and many other journals and anthologies. A former Wallace Stegner Fellow and Discovery/The Nation prizewinner, she directs the creative writing program at Purchase College and lives in Brooklyn.

Helen Phillips is the author of the novel-in-fables And Yet They Were Happy and the children’s adventure novel Here Where the Sunbeams Are Green. She is the recipient of a Rona Jaffe Foundation Writer’s Award, the Italo Calvino Prize in Fabulist Fiction, The Iowa Review Nonfiction Award, the DIAGRAM Innovative Fiction Award, and the Meridian Editors’ Prize. Her work has been featured on NPR’s Selected Shorts. She lives in Brooklyn.

Diane Williams’s
most recent book of fiction is Vicky Swanky is a Beauty, out from McSweeney’s. The paperback edition was released this fall. She is the publisher and editor of the literary annual NOON.
